The Desierto de Tabernas, home of many spaghetti westerns such as The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Unfortunately the film sets all cost about €15 and are apparently a bit crap. There are however a fleet of cowboys on horses who hang around the motorway slip roads trying to entice you to visit.

After a finger snappingly cold descent we arrived in Orgiva, where a creepy faux-hippy woman tried to trick us into paying €3 for WiFi.

Climbing 'the Rock' in Calpe. Alice had been here on holiday once before, and was pleased at the addition of summit cats. Our picnic lunch was gatecrashed by hungry cats and seagulls and a little dog.

Descending from a tortuous climb from Murcia into Almería province. We searched a deserted holiday resort in darkness for a camping spot, eventually finding a rocky patch in a small cove.  It was bonfire night but we were too exhausted to make a fire, though a storm out at sea provided an excellent lightning show.
